Summer Safety: Preventing Bug Bites

As the weather warms up and we begin to spend more time outdoors it is very important to protect ourselves against mosquito, tick, and flea bites as they have the potential to make us sick. How can you protect you and your family against these biting bugs you might ask... by using appropriate insect and tick repellant (preferably containing at least 20% DEET) and applying as directed.

Over exposure to UV rays from the sun can result in sunburn and can lead to more serious health problems including skin cancer and eye damage.

Leaders Can Have Fun Too!

We’re just getting into the swing of our season here at Sesame Place. This year we decided to kick off the year with an event for our leadership team members. We hosted our first annual Sesame Place Leadership Summit! Our leadership consists of seasonal supervisors, managers, directors and vice presidents from all departments in the park from Horticulture to Operations to EHS.

Lost Items at Sesame Place

As a member of the Security Team here at Sesame Place, the number one issue I handle on a daily basis is the Lost and Found. I know lost items are the last thing on everyone’s mind when they first arrive at Sesame Place, but often enough, guests find that they need the service. A guest may be in a store looking to purchase our great Sesame Place merchandise and notice that they cannot find their swim towel. Another guest could be missing their child’s favorite Elmo plush toy that has been in the family for years.

Tips for Making the Most of Your Visit to Sesame Place

As the summer heats up, Sesame Place becomes the place to be to cool off for every water park enthusiast in and out of the area. With that in mind, I’m sure you can imagine the inquiries and comments I receive on a daily basis in July and August.
