Summer 2012 has started off with many heat waves. We have reached temperatures of nearly 100 degrees! And what better way to cool off this summer than to ride one of our water attractions here in the park. Here are a few safety tips when visiting Sesame Place during these hot summer months.
#1 Always Wear Sun Screen!
When standing in line to cool off at Sky Splash or while enjoying a nice lazy ride on Big Bird's Rambling River, the sun can sneak up on you. If it is an overcast day there are still UV rays that shine through. Make sure to lotion up before you hit the water and reapply after you're done!
**Super Secret Sesame Tip #1- Big Bird's Rambling River can get crowded during the day, but during the afternoon parade, it's very empty! No wait, no sunburn, no problem!**
#2 Drink Lots Of Water!
Before you decide to jump on the water attractions, make sure to hydrate! You never know how long you might be waiting in the sun. Soda and juice box's might taste delicious and refreshing in the heat, but water will help your body stay hydrated longer. If you wave hello to the lifeguards at each attraction, you'll notice they're also drinking water just like you!
**Super Secret Sesame Tip #2- Drinking water every fifteen minutes will help you stay hydrated longer, therefore giving you more to time to enjoy your day at Sesame!**
#3 Play A Game!
Do you know all the words to “I Love Trash”? What about “The Hokey Pokey”? Music plays throughout the park and you can hear it clearly while waiting in line. If there is a song you know, sing along!
When waiting in line, it's easy to get flustered. So to prevent this from happening, play a game! It will make the time go by quicker. Even if you're not waiting in line and you're visiting an attraction like Ernie's Waterworks, still play a game!
**Super Secret Sesame Tip #3- There is no super secret tip #3 other than to have a blast while visiting Sesame Place!**
