Gardening Greetings from the Sesame Place Horticulture Department!

You may have noticed our thousands of colorful flowers in bloom throughout the Park, but you may have missed all the delicious fruits and veggies we are also growing!

Twiddlebug Land is full of vibrant vegetables... we are growing; cherry tomatoes, ornamental peppers, Swiss Chard and many various herbs in pots. Don't forget to look up... many hanging baskets are full of ripe, red strawberries... they are yours... if you can reach!

While relaxing in the Rambling River, keep an eye out for Abby's Pumpkin Patch behind her theater, she even turned a few pumpkins into zucchinis! If you look hard enough, you might even see a few watermelons!

Behind the scenes, many of the Horticulture Team Members are growing all kinds of crops. The crops include; corn, potatoes, squash, zucchinis, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, beets and even peanuts! We are even using interesting containers to grow our crops such as reused watermelon boxes! One day soon, we will have a Harvest Day and make a giant Team Member Salad!

All of the Sesame Place Staff is encouraged to participate in our Community Garden located behind the Human Resources building. The Community Garden is full of pumpkins, tomatoes, melons, blackberries, peaches and herbs. Many of the crops harvested from the Community Garden are donated to a local food pantry.
