An Inside Look at the “Neighborhood Street Party” Parade

We love our Facebook fans, Twitter followers and blog readers! To show our appreciation for your support of Sesame Place and our social media channels, we will be offering you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the development of “Neighborhood Street Party”—Sesame Place’s brand-new parade.

Over the coming months we will be posting videos, photos and insider accounts of the parade’s developments. This could include peeks at the floats’ construction, video of the choreography development and sound from the Sesame Street characters recording the parade sound track—all of which will offer you an exclusive look at the exciting new parade.

Well, what better way to start off our behind-the-scenes coverage than with a few photos from the parade float construction? Here are two photos of the float constuction:

Here are two gargoyles that will adorn the Count's castle float. From here, these sculpted pieces will be covered in fiberglass and painted.

This is one of Elmo’s best buds, David. David will join Dorothy on the Elmo float in the new “Neighborhood Street Party” parade.

These two photos give you an idea of the craftsmanship and scale of the new parade floats—let’s just say they are going to be huge!
