We’re just getting into the swing of our season here at Sesame Place. This year we decided to kick off the year with an event for our leadership team members. We hosted our first annual Sesame Place Leadership Summit! Our leadership consists of seasonal supervisors, managers, directors and vice presidents from all departments in the park from Horticulture to Operations to EHS.
Jamey Walls, our corporate director of training and development, delivered a presentation about our company culture and our impact on that culture as leaders. We discussed what it means to be a leader and the great impact we make on the guest experience. Jamey had great insight on what the SeaWorld and Busch Garden parks are doing to increase guest interaction and how we can do that here at Sesame Place. At Aquatica San Antonio – they have a representative from every department stand at their front gate to say goodbye each evening! We are actively looking at implementing some exciting ideas we brainstormed during this summit!
In addition to the presentation, our leadership team engaged in some healthy competition. We had fun playing basketball, kickball, foursquare and competing in relay races! This is one of many events that our Human Resources team works on throughout the season to make Sesame Place not only a fun place to go to, but a fun place to work at!
