Greetings from Sesame Place’s Guest Correspondence Team! Many of our guests would be surprised to learn that our correspondence team here at Sesame Place is a team of one. As the Guest Correspondence Manager, I handle a bulk of the guest comments, inquiries, and requests with some help from our other departments from time to time.
I wasn’t always in charge of guest correspondence though; I started here at Sesame Place in 1999 as a line employee in Guest Relations. I remember the job fair that year like it was yesterday…and I remember that I missed entertainment auditions by one day. I had met some really nice people in Guest Relations at the job fair and decided that I would bide my time there for one season, then audition for entertainment the next year. Little did I know that I would enjoy Guest Relations and that I would work there for 9 seasons before moving into my current position here at the park.
I had moved from the “front lines” of the park to a behind the scenes role. It took some time getting used to being out of the spotlight, but I quickly adapted and found that handling all of the park correspondence was an interesting and rewarding job. As you can imagine, I have heard it all, but nothing tops hearing about how much fun a guest has had at our park.
