Fall is upon us here at Sesame Place, and do you know what that means? It means that my summer job is winding down and I’m back to my full time teaching job. The fall is an exciting time here at Sesame Place and this year, we’re taking advantage of the start of the school year to invite teachers to visit our park for an open house and presentation on the education programs that we offer. Teachers can register to attend our Education Program open house on Saturday, October 1, 2011. With registration, teachers will receive complimentary admission for themselves and up to three $25 tickets for their guests.
As a teacher, I am always looking for new ways to reach my students to increase their motivation in and out of the classroom, and also to make valid connections to the real world. As we all know, education is moving towards a more hands-on approach, and if you haven’t already tried these types of activities in your classroom, it can be a very daunting task. Let Sesame Place help you in planning your next hands-on activity by bringing your classroom to the park to participate in our Sesame Place CSI – Club of Science Investigators. Sesame Place has amazing team members that are specialists in their fields that facilitate our science activities and interact with your students on their level.
Our education program is designed to make learning fun. Teachers can bring their classes to Sesame Place for a day filled with fun, laughter and learning as they join our Sesame CSI (Club of Science Investigators) to explore the wonderful world of science. Sesame Place in conjunction with the Sesame Workshop worked to follow the national STEM curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Our amazing team members will work closely with your students as they discover everyday science and develop questions to begin their investigations. Teachers will receive a packet of pre- and post-activities to complete in the classroom, and students will receive a field guide to explore the park with.
